HOW CAN WE...

Create an easy, fun & intuitive experience for the user, so that they come back and use the app again and again.

Background

Our Team was asked to develop a food ordering app for a local artisan taco truck who had been relying on third party apps — like seamless— for taking online orders. They wanted to create their own app to increase profit, promote the brand identity and communicate with customer’s direct.

Who are we designing for?

By analyzing the data we saw that most potential users were working adults whose busy lives did not allow them the time to plan and cook meals, and who were looking for ways to free up time for other interests that brought them joy.

Initial research revealed that in addition to convenience, these users were looking for healthy food choices, ease in ordering, reliability in delivery times, increasing likelihood of satisfaction, and cost constraints.

The Process: Usability Studies

Two rounds of usability studies were conducted with five users . The first study was completed with a lo-fidelity prototype. Information from this study was used to guide the design from wireframe to mock up.

The second study was conducted with a hi-fidelty prototype and revealed what aspects of the mock-up needed refining.
